Key Sound Characteristics
Full-spectrum analog filtering (20Hz-20kHz): Whether you're running bass, keys, or a full mix, every frequency from the deepest lows to the highest highs is preserved before you start shaping. It’s not about removing what you don't want, it's about defining the boundaries of where you want to explore.
User-defined boundaries: You set two frequency points (lower and upper boundary), then shift between them from instant to 20 seconds. Most filters lock you into a single tone. Niisoo allows you to define your own range because true creativity happens when you move between the known and unknown.
Three optimized filter modes: Low-pass (near-muted filtering opens to full bypass), band-pass (thick and warm, thins as it sweeps), and high-pass (starts full, loses bass until you hit lo-fi tones). Each mode has been tuned for smooth transitions across its ideal frequency range.
Rez control from subtle to near self-oscillation: The rez knob feeds the filter's output back into itself, creating everything from gentle emphasis to wild, pronounced peaks that can push into near self-oscillation. Combined with Niisoo's shifting abilities, low and high-pass modes create a synth-like sweep while band-pass takes on a vocal, quacky character.
Latch or momentary shifting: Latch mode: tap once to shift, tap again to return. Momentary: hold to sweep, release to snap back. You control which direction the filter shifts between the lower and upper boundary. Start from bypass and dive into the filter, or emerge from filter's deep back into clarity.
Expression pedal input for hands-on control: Our first NativeAudio pedal with expression capability. Plug in any expression controller and manually sweep between your boundaries in any filter mode. Perfect for creating custom wah tones or deep and warm volume swells.

Here's how Blackfeet tradition shaped the engineering.
In Blackfeet culture, niisoo (four) represents the four seasons and the four stages of life. Each season isn't a fixed state, it's a transition. Spring doesn't just arrive, it emerges from winter through gradual shifts in temperature, light, and life. Our ancestors were nomadic and carried centuries of wisdom, understanding that growth happens in the movement between the known and the unknown, not by staying locked in one place.
Most filters trap you in set frequency ranges, limiting your exploration to someone else's idea of useful sounds. Inspired by the traditional ways of our ancestors and the wild, expressive approach to sound in the world of synth, Niisoo uses a fourth-order analog filter where you define two boundary points, then shift between them across the full audio spectrum at speeds from instant to 20 seconds. You set the edges of your own exploration and decide how you move through the different flavors of tone.
Niisoo's overall design represents a blanket, an important tool and symbol in Blackfeet culture, offering both protection and storytelling through its patterns. Traditional Blackfeet blankets use four colors to mark the seasonal transitions and are gifted as tools to loved ones for warmth and care. Niisoo, like the blanket, is a tool for your creativity. The result is a filter that evolves with your playing, creating space for discovery. Just like my ancestors didn't wait for spring to arrive, they moved with the season as it came.
Flip it over and you'll see the full story of why Niisoo exists and how my Blackfeet heritage shaped it.
You're not buying a pedal. You're joining musicians who see their pedalboards as expressions of their values and their sound. We believe the tools we use to create should carry the same intention and meaning as the music we make.
That's how we keep Blackfeet culture alive. Not behind glass, but in action.
Here's what it sounds like in action.
