Fuzzy and funky with Makoyii.

Touch sensitive grit.

Today, we are getting fuzzy and funky on the bass with Makoyii. With its incredible dynamic range and wooly low end, Makoyii makes for a beautifully expressive option to push your bass tone into the red.

0:00 - 0:17 The jumping off point.

In the first section of this video, we demonstrate our clean tone. For this demo we will be using the p pickup of our Fender Mustang bass. The tone here is clean and warm with tons of low end.

0:18 - 0:35 Throaty drive tone.

Now that we’ve heard the bypass signal, let’s add some dirt! We will leave volume and tone around 1 o’clock but explore different levels of gain. This first setting adds a throaty overdrive with compression you can really feel under your fingers. You’ll notice that the more you dig in, the more bite you get.

0:36 - 0:53 More push, more dirt.

Adding a little more gain, we start to leave overdrive territory and head into distortion. The tone is grittier, there is more grind when you dig in, but our low end is still coming through loud and clear!

0:54 - 1:09 High gain without the noise.

Adding more gain, we are now firmly in the distortion camp. This setting yields beautiful saturation and complex harmonic content but retains a low noise floor. Giving you everything you want from a distortion and none of the stuff you don’t.

1:10 - 1:30 Let there be fuzz.

We’ll end the demo with some full on fuzz. The gain here is rich and full with massive low end, beefy mids, and enough high end grind to cut through any mix.

Let’s make some noise!

Now that we’ve explored the possible, let’s go and create the impossible. Visit here for Makoyii.
